Certain people in the scene just can't deal with permeable boundaries, you know?  I've taken a lot of grief too, for being a switch. Once I was practicing with a signal whip in a club while wearing a collar, and somebody walked up to me in evident agitation and said, ‘Well -- what, what ARE you?’  ‘A human,’ I said.

An Envious Lot, an Excerpt from Original Sins

Karina sorely envied the naked brunette.

She was dragged onto the podium to bask in the warmth of a cold spotlight. A murmur of approval wafted through the crowd, someone wolf-whistled, and a couple of others laughed with what sounded like drunken merriment.

Charlie held her by one arm, his gap-toothed smile edged with malicious pleasure. He turned her around so every inch of her bare body was made visible to the audience. The only parts of her skin that remained covered were those strips of flesh hidden by the chains of her bondage.

‘Lot 67,’ Robert said calmly. The microphone carried his words over the muttering voices and instilled an expectant silence. ‘She’s a pleasing specimen of feminine servility, nice titties, good legs and a backside that loves being slapped and slapped again. Her pedigree is uncertain and there’s no deeds of indenture, but I do have signed GP certification to prove she’s clean and healthy. On that note, I should add she doesn’t eat much so, to fulfill all nutritional requirements, her diet is currently being supplemented with canine vitamins.’

Sitting at the back of the auditorium, watching with horror and disbelief, Karina shook her head in silent refusal. She still couldn’t believe Robert - quietly spoken, calm, unassuming Robert - was playing the role of auctioneer: it seemed so totally out of character. She had no problem accepting Charlie’s involvement. Charlie was a low-life, despicable piece of scum who would do anything for a cheap thrill or a fast buck. Charlie couldn’t say hello on a morning without glancing at her cleavage or trying to see above the hem of her skirt; Charlie could seldom manage two consecutive sentences without using the word twat, fuck, shit or bastard; Charlie couldn’t help but undress Karina with his gaze and make lewd suggestions at every opportunity. But Karina would never have imagined Robert being involved with a slave auction. Never in a million years.

‘She’s toilet-trained,’ Robert continued blithely. ‘She swallows. She swings both ways. And I’m told she likes it in any hole available. According to the seller, she can be bound, gagged, pierced, tattooed or branded, although, as you can all probably see, she’s a clean canvas at the moment.’

Karina pressed a hand over her lap and moaned. Ever since they had brought the woman on to the podium there had been a tingling between her legs and now it buzzed like an electric charge. She pressed more firmly against her cleft and was rewarded by a spark of elation. Her nipples stood stiff inside her bra, weighing uncomfortably against the cotton fabric. Growing more excited with every second, she was thankful for the shadows that were keeping her arousal discreet.

‘Who’ll start me?’ Robert asked. ‘Who wants to make the first bid for this splendour of feminine loveliness?’

Karina held her breath, glanced around the group, and wondered if anyone might take him up on the offer. She half-expected the auction to be revealed as a hoax - someone would turn the lights on while Robert pointed and they all laughed at her gullibility - but, as the silence crept on, Karina began to realize that wasn’t going to happen. She began to accept she was attending a genuine slave auction and Robert - quietly spoken, calm, unassuming Robert - was the auctioneer.

‘Who’ll start me?’ he asked again, wafting his gavel and glancing into the shadows of the auction hall. ‘You all know there’s only one lot at these "specialist" auctions. Who’ll give me the night’s first bid?’

Shocked by a thrill of unbidden arousal, Karina gasped with surprise and snatched her hands away from her crotch. She knew, if she continued touching so boldly, it wouldn’t be long before she caught herself masturbating. She wasn’t prone to pleasuring herself in public places, the idea was so crass it bordered on being repulsive but, with the discretion of the darkness and all that was happening on the podium, the impulse was hard to resist. The urgency of her need, and her body’s demand for satisfaction, threatened to override her better judgment.

‘Do I hear five hundred from the back of the room?’ Robert asked hopefully. ‘Do I hear four?’

The woman in the spotlight was a beautiful creature, her bondage displaying every aspect to exciting perfection. Her brunette tresses were tied back, away from her heart-shaped face, in a pony-tail that cascaded down her bare back. She stared out at her potential buyers through the slender lengths of chain that triangulated across her face and held the red, rubber ball-gag firmly in her mouth.

Watching intently, Karina shivered. She couldn’t decide if the tremor came from a voyeuristic thrill, or the idea of being in the woman’s humiliating position. Both were powerful stimulants and brooding on either made the temptation to touch herself even more irresistible.

The brunette’s arms were cuffed behind her back and fastened to the collar encircling her throat. Her breasts were fat and swollen and displayed for everyone to see. A steel bar - a spreader bar, Karina decided - lay between her orbs. It was suspended by small, shiny clips that bit wickedly into the woman’s nipples.

‘Do I hear three hundred from the back?’ Robert called again. With what sounded like growing doubt he asked, ‘Do I hear two fifty?’

‘I want to see it working!’

The exclamation came from the rear of the hall and Karina was able to detect the silhouette of the man who had shouted. He reminded her of the kiosk attendant from Sinners night-club where Robert had taken her the previous week. At the time she had thought the man seemed an unremarkable figure: attractive but nothing spectacular. Yet she now remembered every detail about him and had no difficulty identifying him across the crowded floor of the dimly lit room. She cast her glance from the attendant to the brunette on the podium and wondered if the man was really interested in buying the woman and owning her as his slave. The concept left Karina shivering and she tried vainly to believe that her reaction was inspired by disgust.

Black Rose
By William
tonguetiedpoet@yahoo.com

the black rose is all I see
while I ponder endlessly
black petals
black stem
black thorns calling for blood
it burns
dark twin of a candles flame
the black rose is all I see
seducing every part of me
dark flame
alive
the host of empty hearts
the black rose is all I see
and all I ever want to be
