Sex-Kitten.net presents... the BDSM Issue is a light hearted, multi faceted peek into the world of, well, BDSM. This book contains everything from articles and opinions to poetry and erotica, all packaged in an innocuous pretty little pink and black and white bedside reader. While serious practitioners of the arts that fall under the umbrella of BDSM may be tempted turn up their noses at this book, I found it worth several read throughs. For anyone flirting with the idea of getting involved in the lifestyle, this book offers plenty of nuggets of advice both pro and con.

Rhiannon gives a quick and dirty little interpretation of D/s vs SM and includes the challenge "How can you tell where your line is?" Merideth writes a hilarious retelling of trying to talk to her husband about her desires in "Talking About Submission with the Hubby (Otherwise Known as Oral Exploratory Surgery). This is also an accurate portrayal of trying to discuss any unwelcome topic with an unwilling man. [bard]s's look at the deep need some of us feel for emotional release and why we turn to spanking is beautifully and wistfully written while Amy's Hot Wax Tips is much more playful and fun. Then there is editor, Gracie Passette's interview with Patty, a woman in a real life HOH relationship, in Confessions of a Female Spanko Sub. Patty explains the joys and frustrations as well as the resentments of living a 24/7 submissive lifestyle.

From Sensuous Sadie's take on spirituality and concise lifestyle definitions to Tess Roberts explanations of the painful consequences of "innocent" sexual experimentation to Amy's honest telling of why BDSM isn't for her, there is much to be gleaned from this little book. After all, as Amy states, there is a big difference between a well timed slap on the ass during good sex and a real spanking.  I haven't even hit upon the interviews with real time and virtual Dominants, short erotic stories, poetry and the list goes on. None of the chapters are too long and overwhelming. I would most definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a well rounded primer.
